Its feels good too while walking on it barefooted. I didn't have any trouble with it lying flat, I laid it out with to chair placed at both ends. After a few hours, maybe 3 hours at the most, it was flat and good to go. After breaking in the new rug, I feel this rug is a great product and I would recommend it. We were pleased right away that it did not slid or slip around, even when we attempted to make it slip on purpose.

It has a nice plush feel to the shag, but not a cheap feel like some shag has. The edges are well sewn and sealed so they should stay together for a long time to come. This is the only runner or throw rug I have owned that I could run a vacuum over without it trying to bunch up and get sucked into the vacuum. A big plus is my dog loves it too! I find this rug soft to the touch. I noticed when I walked on the rug it didn't leave any prints and if it did you can just use your hand to fluff the shag the way you want it to go. I noticed when I first vacuumed this rug there was an odor to it this could be because it came wrapped in a heavy green plastic and not sure how long it was packaged in this. One thing I don't like about this rug is when I used my Hoover Wind tunnel vacuum on it even if I set it on low it was very hard to vacuum I'll try my little light weight vacuum on this shag rug and see if it makes a difference or not.
